Throughout Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Tamra Barney and Gretchen Rossi have mended fences and bonded over sex toys. All that goodwill is
being threatened by some nasty rumors. TMZ reports that Gretchen has been telling friends Tamra’s recent engagement to boyfriend Eddie Judge was set up by Bravo producers.
According to TMZ, the powers that be at the Real Housewives wanted a giant finale, so they asked Gretchen and Slade Smiley to get engaged — all Bachelor style with exotic locale and freebeing threatened by some nasty rumors. TMZ reports that Gretchen has been telling friends Tamra’s recent engagement to boyfriend Eddie Judge was set up by Bravo producers.
ring — but Slade allegedly turned the offer down. Apparently, he didn’t think a fake proposal would sit well with his legions of haters. (Of course, reports recently surfaced that Gretchen and Slade are actually engaged) Afterwards, TMZ claims Eddie and Tamra did accept Bravo’s alleged proffered ring/vacation package.
In response to the story, Tamra tweeted, “I am sick to my stomach and hurt by Gretchen's tmz article about my engagement. Jealousy really turns people ugly!”
In response, Gretchen went to Twitter to post, “Whoever keeps trying to stir up things between @TamraBarney and me, needs to stop making up lies! I never said any of those things TMZ is reporting and have been nothing but happy for Tamra and her engagement. Last week I was begging for a ring from Bravo now this week her engagement is a sham! Give me a break! Why can't anyone just be happy for her and I! We are both happy and in a good place in our lives!”
A Bravo spokesperson also shot down the claims in a statement to Wetpaint Entertainment: “This is a totally inaccurate report.” Tamra and Eddie did travel to Bora Bora, where he popped the question, in February. Guess we’ll have to wait until the finale to see if Bravo filmed the magical event.
